What a time to be involved in Pinball. With the re-release of Total Nuclear Annihilation, Scooby Doo, Foo Fighters, Galactic Tank Force and Godfather it seemed our beloved hobby had been swamped with choice.
However the latest release from Chicago Gaming Company may well be the best of a very fine line-up.
Having just watched CGC’s announcement video for Pulp Fiction I have to say that I’m blown away by the design. Designed by Mark Ritchie (he made Fish Tales . . a real Flipperama favourite) this game is far more 1981 Bally than 2023 Jersey Jack and that may be a masterstroke.
The company best known for remaking classics such as Mediaeval Madness and Attack From Mars have gone full retro with their first original design. Featuring an alphanumeric type scoreboard, drop targets and retro coin doors & side-rails they have produced a rival for Stern’s Bond 6oth edition for a fraction of the price.
It will be very interesting to see who the winner of the 2023 releases will be but it’s set to be a vintage year for all who love the hobby of pinball.
